The commonly used flange types in construction include flat welding flanges, neck flanges, butt welding flanges, socket flanges, threaded flanges, blind flange, etc. The specific selection needs to be determined based on pipeline pressure, temperature, and medium characteristics.
Slip-on Flange
Plate type flat welding flange: Low cost, suitable for normal temperature and pressure pipelines, but with poor rigidity, not suitable for high temperature and high pressure or flammable and explosive environments.
Neck flat welding flange: neck enhances rigidity, suitable for pipelines with PN ≤ 2.5MPa, easy to install but with a large welding volume.
butt welding flange
Neck welding flange: with good sealing performance, suitable for high temperature, high pressure or flammable and explosive media, but with large volume and complex installation.
Integrated flange (IF): Casting process, commonly used for high-pressure pipelines, with sealing surfaces available in RF, MFM, or TG.
Socket Flange
Socket welding flange: one end welded and one end bolted, suitable for pipelines with DN ≤ 40 and PN ≤ 10MPa, commonly used in boilers and chemical equipment.
threaded flange
Suitable for situations where welding is not allowed on site, easy to install and maintain, but prone to leakage when there are large temperature fluctuations.
blind flange
Flange cover: used for pipeline sealing, with sealing surfaces available in flat, protruding, and other types, and can be disassembled at any time.
Other types
Welding ring/flat welding ring loose flange: saves materials and is suitable for special material pipelines such as plastic pipes, but has lower pressure resistance.
American standard flange: manufactured according to ASME B16.5 standard, commonly used in international projects.
