high pressure flange

SHARE TO:

High pressure flanges are parts used for connecting pipelines or equipment with a pressure exceeding 10MPa, and are divided into two categories: traditional high-pressure flanges and high-pressure self tightening flanges. The traditional type achieves sealing by tightening the sealing gasket with bolts, and the materials include carbon steel, stainless steel, etc., but there are problems such as bulky volume and insufficient sealing performance; High pressure self tightening utilizes the elastic deformation of metal sealing rings to form a hard seal, combined with a sleeve structure to enhance strength, suitable for high temperature and high pressure environments [1-2].
Traditional high-pressure flanges have been used for pipeline connections since the industrial era, consisting of flanges, gaskets, and bolts. The high-pressure self tightening flange appeared in the 1950s and was localized by Chengdu Zhiyuan Machinery Technology in China in 2005 (brand ZY-LOC). Its metal to metal sealing structure has improved its tensile and bending resistance. Only China, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Italy have production capacity globally, with representative brands including China’s ZY-LOC and the United States’ Grayloc. Related technologies such as wedge-shaped seal design and installation tool patents have further optimized sealing stability and assembly efficiency
