Pressure rating of seamless elbow

SHARE TO:

The pressure rating of seamless elbows is usually divided according to nominal pressure, and common grades include PN1.6, PN2.5, PN4.0, PN6.4, PN10.0, PN16.0, PN25.0, PN40.0, etc. (in MPa). PN1.6 and PN2.5 belong to the low pressure level and are suitable for low pressure pipeline systems such as tap water and heating, with a pressure not exceeding 2.5 MPa. PN4.0 to PN10.0 are medium pressure grades used for the transportation of compressed air, steam (temperature ≤ 300) and other media in industrial pipelines, such as process pipelines in general chemical plants. PN16.0 and above are high pressure levels. PN16.0 is suitable for high pressure steam pipelines (temperature 300-400), while PN25.0 and PN40.0 are used for high pressure pipeline systems in petrochemical, power and other fields, and can withstand pressures of over 40MPa and temperatures of over 400. The determination of pressure level is related to the material and wall thickness of the elbow. Under the same material, the higher the pressure level, the thicker the wall. When selecting, it is necessary to match the design pressure of the pipeline system to ensure that the pressure resistance of the elbow is higher than the system working pressure, leaving a safety margin to avoid damage caused by overpressure.
