Steel pipe standard

The steel pipe standard is a technical standard system that regulates the production and application of steel pipes, also known as the Steel pipe standard in foreign languages. The Chinese steel pipe standards mainly include GB/T 8162-2018 (seamless steel pipes for structural use), GB/T 3087-2019 (seamless steel pipes for low and medium pressure boilers), and GB/T 5310-2019 (seamless steel pipes for high pressure boilers), covering requirements for material, mechanical properties, and dimensional tolerances. International standards involve ISO 65:1996 (Seamless Steel Pipe Dimensions and Deviations), ISO 3183 (Steel Pipe for Petroleum and Natural Gas Industries), and ASTM A106/A106M (Specification for High Temperature and High Pressure Application of Seamless Carbon Steel Pipe) [1].
The Chinese petroleum and natural gas industry will implement the GB/T 9711-2023 standard from March 1, 2024, replacing the original GB/T 9711-2017 version. This standard adopts ISO international standards and is applicable to the inspection and application of steel pipes in pipeline transportation systems
